When House & Home editor Emma Reddington commissioned DCP Studio to create both a bespoke artwork and textile print for her newly renovated bedroom, the brief was beautifully understated: create a room that felt calm, timeless and deeply connected to its West Coast surroundings.

The renovation embraced a contemporary West Coast modern aesthetic, celebrating natural materials, warm timber detailing and clean architectural lines. Our role was to develop the visual language that would soften the space—bringing warmth, history and personality through art and textiles.

Rather than following current trends, we looked to one of the twentieth century's most influential textile artists: Anni Albers.Her Bauhaus textiles continue to inspire generations through their balance of geometry, rhythm and craftsmanship. 

The finished fabric introduces subtle nostalgia without feeling literal—a modern interpretation of a timeless textile tradition.

CLOUD WORK: 

The home sits amongst towering cedar trees beside a gently flowing creek, where shifting light and shadow play into the bedroom. The Cloud artwork combines a soft wash of inks; creamy acyrlics and dye, painted onto raw Canvas.
