Puffy Pillows for the Roly Poly Chair
For this project, DCP Studio set out to design a collection of oversized Puffy Pillows for the iconic Roly Poly Chair, created by Faye Toogood Studio. With its generous bowl-shaped form, chunky legs and unmistakable silhouette, the Roly Poly has become one of the defining furniture designs of the last decade, celebrated for its playful proportions and sculptural presence.
The aim was simple: create cushions that feel as though they were always meant to belong inside the chair.
The starting point was Coffee & TV, one of DCP Studio's signature textile prints. Composed of bold geometric forms, rich coffee browns, burgundy, deep navy and warm sand tones, the pattern brings together graphic simplicity with a soft, tactile warmth. The composition feels modern yet nostalgic—an aesthetic that sits naturally within the expressive curves of the Roly Poly.
Rather than producing conventional seat cushions, the studio designed a series of generously scaled, overstuffed pillows that completely transform the sitting experience. The cushions gently spill over the edges of the chair, creating a relaxed, inviting form while softening the sculptural shell.
